Elizabeth House provides the following services free of charge to our clients: dinners, groceries, referral services and on a very limited basis some financial help.
Dinners (Kitchen): The Meal Kitchen serves a hot dinner every evening of the year, except on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving dinner is provided by another Laurel organization. Each dinner recipient also receives a bag lunch for the next day. Clients must sign in each day and indicate whether they will need a hot dinner the next day. Dinner time is 6:15 PM to 8:00 PM, serving stops at approximately 7:15 PM. Click here for details
Groceries (Pantry): The Pantry provides bags of groceries for family or single clients. Groceries consist of dry and canned goods. Fresh vegetables, fruits, bread products or frozen food may be included as available. Days of distribution are: Tuesday (2:00PM), Thursday (11:00 AM) and Saturday (11:00AM). Clients must first qualify to be eligible to participate. To qualify and schedule a day for their grocery pick-up, clients must call in to the Hot Line Answering Service. Click here for details.
Emergency Help (Financial help or referral service): Financial help with rent, utility or medical bills is available on a very limited basis. Clients must first qualify to be eligible to participate.
