The following information is compiled each month by the various volunteers who receive phone calls for assistance via the FISH of Laurel helpline - 301-262-7106 - and by the food pantry and kitchen volunteers.


March 2012 Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance:

  • The FISH hotline received 148 phone calls for assistance.
  • The food pantry provided groceries to 41 families and 8 individuals, for a total of 153 people.
  • FISH provided $4,400 for rent, year to date.
  • FISH provided $1,298 for utilities, year to date.

March 2012 Kitchen Food Donations:

The Elizabeth House kitchen is well supported by individuals, families, schools, youth groups, businesses and religious and civic organizations. They are listed on our Supporters web page. Below is a summary of our GREAT March food donors!

  • 17 individuals/family groups donated food on at least one occasion.
  • 3 schools/youth groups
  • 7 businesses and civic organizations
  • 6 religious organizations

February 2012 Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance:

  • The FISH hotline received 138 phone calls for assistance.
  • The food pantry provided groceries to 40 families and 10 individuals, for a total of 159 people.
  • FISH provided $4,400 for rent, year to date.
  • FISH provided $873 for utilities, year to date.

February 2012 Kitchen Food Donations:

The Elizabeth House kitchen is well supported by individuals, families, schools, youth groups, businesses and religious and civic organizations. They are listed on our Supporters web page. Below is a summary of our GREAT February food donors!

  • 11 individuals/family groups donated food on at least one occasion.
  • 4 schools/youth groups
  • 7 businesses and civic organizations
  • 6 religious organizations

January 2012 Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance:

  • The FISH hotline received 175 phone calls for assistance.
  • The food pantry provided groceries to 57 families and 6 individuals, for a total of 277 people.
  • FISH provided $3,400 for rent, year to date.
  • FISH provided $500 for utilities, year to date.

  • 14 individuals/family groups donated food on at least one occasion.
  • 2 schools/youth groups
  • 9 businesses and civic organizations
  • 5 religious organizations

December 2011 Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance:

  • 85 turkeys and Christmas holiday groceries were handed out to needy families, accounting for a total of 314 people.
  • The FISH hotline received 289 phone calls for assistance.
  • In addition to Christmas, the food pantry provided groceries to 46 families and 6 individuals, for an additional total of 177 people.
  • FISH provided $1,400 for rent - year to date: $3,400.
  • FISH provided $80 for utilities - year to date: $480.

December 2011 Kitchen Food Donations:

The Elizabeth House kitchen is well supported by individuals, families, schools, youth groups, businesses and religious and civic organizations. They are listed on our Supporters web page. Below is a summary of our GREAT December food donors!

  • 14 individuals/family groups donated food on at least one occasion.
  • 5 schools/youth groups

November 2011 Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance:

  • 80 turkeys and Thanksgiving holiday groceries were handed out to needy families, accounting for a total of 297 people.
  • The FISH hotline received 334 phone calls for assistance.
  • In addition to Thanksgiving, the food pantry provided groceries to 51 families and 7 individuals, for an additional total of 205 people.
  • FISH provided $1,580 for rent - year to date: $2,180.
  • FISH provided $200 for utilities - year to date: $400.
