2010:

Riderwood seniors volunteer - Read the 3 June 2010 Gazette article about the active seniors from the Riderwood retirement community [Silver Spring, MD] and how they are lending a hand at Elizabeth House.

2008:

As part of Temple Isaiah’s [Columbia, MD] annual fundraiser, volunteers delivered 380 bags of groceries to the Elizabeth House food pantry on Friday, 10 October 2008. As the food pantry shelves were almost bare, their generosity was greatly appreciated!

2007:

What services did FISH/Elizabeth House provided in 2007?
   
The Meal kitchen serves on average 37 clients per night at Elizabeth House for a total of 13,468 meals last year.
   The Emergency Services Ministry operates a 24 hour hot-line, distributes groceries three times a week from the Elizabeth House and helps with rent, medications, and utility bills.
   
For 2007 Emergency Services;
     Handled 1192 calls,
     Provided food to 427 families consisting of 1683 children and adults,
     Provided utility help to 19 families,
     Provided rent assistance to 15 families so they could stay in their   apartments,
     Provided prescription help for 2 families,
     Provided Thanksgiving food to 100 families and singles for a total of 350 people including turkey and fixings, and
     Provided Christmas food to 82 families and singles for a total of 288 people including turkey and fixings.
     Gift certificates are also provided at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Laurel American Legion Post helps with buying turkeys for both Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.
